- Account data: Name, username, e-mail address, country, birth year and, if you provide it, profile picture and biography.
- Service usage: Your games, ratings, statistics, wall posts, comments, messages and tournament/team data.
- Technical data: IP address, browser/device information, access logs and usage data collected through cookies.
3. Purposes and Legal Bases
We process your data to manage your account, provide games/lessons/tournaments, ensure security, prevent abuse, provide support and communication, fulfil legal obligations and, with your consent, for promotional purposes. Processing is based on performance of a contract, legitimate interests, legal obligations and consent.
4. Cookies and Similar Technologies
- Essential cookies: Keep you logged in and the Site working (e.g. session cookie).
- Preference cookies: Remember your language, theme (light/dark) and game preferences.
- Third-party cookies: Cookies used, where applicable, by analytics and payment providers.

- Payment services: Premium payments are processed via PayPal or bank transfer; payment details are handled only by the relevant payment provider.
- Google sign-in: If you use "Sign in with Google", the name, e-mail address and account identifier of your Google account are shared with us; they are used only to create your account or sign you in.
- Infrastructure/analytics: Hosting providers and, where applicable, traffic analytics services.
6. Transfer and Retention
Your personal data is stored on servers used to provide the service and may be transferred to payment, analytics or technical support providers when necessary. Data is kept only for as long as required by the purpose and legal retention periods; when your account is closed, your data is deleted or anonymized, subject to legal obligations.

Under applicable law (the Turkish KVKK no. 6698, Art. 11, and the GDPR in Europe) you have the right to:

- Request rectification, erasure or anonymization of your data,
- Object to processing, request restriction and benefit from data portability,
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
You may send your requests to hello@chessmoon.com. Requests are answered within at most 30 days. You may also lodge a complaint with the Turkish Data Protection Authority (KVKK) where applicable.
9. Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If we become aware of such data, we will delete it.
